Aion 2: unable to connect to login server
“Unable to connect to login server” in Aion 2 almost always means one of three things: the service is in maintenance, you are connecting from outside the region that service covers, or something local — VPN, firewall or DNS — is blocking the login endpoint. It is rarely an account problem.
Check in this order
- Maintenance: scheduled maintenance takes the login servers down entirely. Check the official channels for the service you are on before changing anything.
- Region: the Korean and Taiwanese services are region-targeted. Connecting from outside can fail at login even with a valid account.
- VPN and proxy: a VPN can put you in the wrong region, or into an IP range the service refuses. Try with it off.
- Firewall and antivirus: allow the launcher and game client through, on both the private and public profiles.
- DNS: a stale or filtered resolver can fail to reach the login host. Switching to a public resolver is a quick test.
- Client integrity: verify or repair the installation from Steam or PURPLE before reinstalling.
Why this is a common search before global launch
Most people hitting this error today are on the Korean or Taiwanese service, which has been live since November 2025 and is region-targeted. The global service does not open until 30 September 2026, so a login failure against it before that date is expected rather than broken.
